Before buying my Breville JE98XL I’ve never owned a juicer machine. Initially I was overwhelmed by all of the choices but I finally managed to find a great electric juicer machine that meets my requirements, which are simple to use, efficient, easy to clean and within the range of my budget.
I compared different brands of juice extractor across this price range and now I believe this machine is worth my investment. I use it at least twice daily. This juicer makes the juicing of fruits and vegetables easy and fast. I’m very happy with my purchase and I love this juicer.

This is a fantastic Juicer. I have been researching juicers for a while. I decided on this one, but was disappointed when Bed Bath & Beyond was out with no known shipment date of them returning. So asked for advice on ones they had and decided on the Cuisinart Juice Extractor.
It does juice ok, but the blade shakes quite a bit and even though has duel from extractors it was still foamy. Clean up is a bit harder than ones I have used in the past. Once they had the Breville, I bought it and returned the Cuisinart. The Breville juice extractor is so much more powerful and produces more juice, plus is easier to clean! I’m a happy juicing now thanks to Breville!
Here are some of the great features of the Breville JE98XL:
- Simple to operate, countertop juicing machine with 3-inch feeder chute
- The 850-watt dual-speed motor; high speed for hard fruits and vegetables and low speed for soft vegetables and fruits
- The motor with powerful stainless-steel cutting disc quickly extract the juices from a variety of food; it can produce 8 ounces of juice from whole apples in just five seconds.
- A large-capacity pulp collector captures the maximum amount of pulp, seeds, and skin
- Features safety locking arm, overload protection LED, to protect the motor, and dishwasher-safe removable parts
- Accessories include 1-liter juice jug with a froth separator, a stainless steel filter basket, and a cleaning brush for the filter basket
- Measures 13-1/5 by 16-1/2 by 18-1/5 inches and carries one-year limited warranty

As a first time juicer I fell in love with the $200 and up juicer because I wanted to get the most out of my produce when I juiced it. And, this Juicer was the one I targeted!
This juicer is big. It fits on the counter, but is very tall, and won’t fit under standard sized cabinets on the counter. But it’s attractive. The casing is smoke colored, and the pulp container isn’t see-through.
This juicer really does make short work of apples and larger items with its large chute. It juices very quickly. The High and Low speed setting is really nice, and it switched easily between the two for constant juicing.
It’s also remarkably quiet. I expected it to have a very intense Jet Engine noise but it did not. The noise level was very reasonable, and it did not much as flinch on the counter when I turned it on.
The cleanup is very easy. It’s simply designed, everything locks and unlocks really easily, and no crazy nooks and crannies to scrub. You can expect to spend no longer than 5 minutes from start to finish cleaning this thing by hand. The parts are dishwasher safe, if you want to wash it with dishwasher or hand washing takes too long for you.
This machine is a bargain for what it does — great bang for the buck. It does the same as the more expensive ones, while blowing the doors off of the slightly less expensive ones it can be compared to. Simply put, buy this one.
Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Breville JE98XL:
I purchased this juicer in December 2010, and it has turned out to be true to its advertising. It assembles easily, does a great job of juicing the veggies and fruits I toss into it, and is quieter than other juicers I have owned. Of course, I would love to own a silent juicer, but I don’t think one has been invented yet — at least not one that I can afford.
Do I feel I’ve gotten my money’s worth? You bet. If and when this one wears out, I won’t have to spend months researching a new juicer. I’ll just buy another Breville. (Jill Kosmensky)

I researched a lot of juicers available out there before I bought the Breville 800JEXL 1000-watt Juice Fountain. But after using it for more than 6 weeks I found out that the 800JEXL is the best juicer I have ever used. It produces juice in seconds, relatively quiet, and the look is great.
I’ve been juicing with this juice extractor at least once a day for more than 6 weeks now and I really love it, especially because it’s easy to use and clean. I mostly juice hard vegetables, like beets and carrots, plus leafy greens like wheatgrass and spinach. I’ve had no problem related to leafy vegetables processed with centrifugal juicers. So I’m sure I’ll be using the Breville juicer for years to come.

If you are a heavy juicer, for healing, detoxing or other health reasons, this is a kitchen appliance that answers your needs. From the first day of receiving it I began using this juice up for twice a day. The manual was very helpful and the recipes are classic. I’ve used it for juicing and detox dieting.
There is nothing flimsy about the construction. It’s a breeze to put back together. The cleanup is extremely easy and fast. I always put a plastic bag from the grocery store in the hopper for even easier cleanup. The pulp extracted is extremely dry so that I know I’m getting the maximum out of each vegetable or fruit I put in.
The price is fair but the electric juicer machine has more than paid for itself in the benefits and pleasure I get from it.
Here are some of the great features of the Breville 800JEXL:
- Housed in beautiful die-cast stainless steel, the juicer measures 8 by 9 by 19 inches and carries a 1-year warranty.
- 1000-watt juicer comes with 2 speed controls, high (13,000 RPM) for harder fruits and vegetables and low (6,500 RPM) for leafy vegetables or softer fruits, can force as much as juice out of the stainless-steel micromesh filter
- Titanium-plated cutting disk to grind pulp into the tiniest particles.
- Big, circular 3-inch feed tube accommodates whole fruits and vegetables, easily processes the foods without pre-cutting, slicing, or dicing
- Accessories include dishwasher-safe 100 ounce pulp container and 34 ounce juicing pitcher, and manual/recipe book
- Locking arm bolts move up to 1/4″ in all directions to ensure a snug fit in the locking arm

One of juicers was a used Juiceman Pro 211. Within three months of daily carrot juicing the narrow plastic feed chute cracked. Apparently the force of the carrots twisting against the blades was too much for it. The chute was so small, pre-processing was time consuming. Carrots had to be cut once lengthwise and then in half. This experience put me in the market for a model with a metal chute.
The tall stainless steel chute of the Breville 800JEXL with 1000-watt motor edged out all competitors, including the Juiceman Pro 211. The Breville food pusher alone is nearly as tall as the JUICEMAN! In fact, the 800JEXL is so tall it doesn’t fit beneath my kitchen cabinet on the countertop.
Though the Breville 800JEXL is mostly stainless steel, some parts like the pulp container, juice jug and food pusher are plastic. There is a total of seven parts to clean and all of the parts are dishwasher safe. When I cleaned my BREVILLE I noticed moisture on the blades the next day. But I just make certain all the parts dry out before inserting the nearly air-tight food pusher.
The fruit processing capacity of the 800JEXL is so large; it easily fills the one-liter juice jug in no time. Depending on the produce, pulp may feel moist — especially juicy fruit like apples.
Centrifugal juicers are not optimum for herbs and leafy vegetables. The BREVILLE manual advises combining them with firmer fruits or vegetables. For best results press the power-off button, pack the chute with soft and hard vegetables together and press in the plunger before flipping the low speed switch. Depending on the leafy vegetable, you might consider using celery, cucumber, zucchini, carrot, or apple as a firm adjunct.
Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Breville 800JEXL
I needed a new juicer to replace my Juiceman, and only knew that I didn’t want to get another Juiceman, because it’s hard to clean and there are lots of other problems with it. I really had no intention of spending $300 for a juicer, but after checking out a lot of other juicers and reading great reviews for the Breville 800JEXL, I decided I would get the Breville. And I love it. It is just great.
I wanted something that would be easy to clean, and this washes up in 5 minutes. And I’ve had it three months, used it almost everyday, and it looks just as new as the day I received it. And it makes great tasting creamy juice. It is professionally designed and everything about it is well thought out.
The only thing that I have found that it doesn’t juice as well is spinach. But in my opinion, it blows away all the other juicers and I would highly recommend this juicer to anyone. It is just great and I love it! (Carol Krause)

I got the Breville BJE200XL juicer a few weeks ago and really like it. The large feeding tube and powerful motor makes it easy to put 2 – 3 carrots in at the same time. As far as noise, I’ve found that it’s no louder than my blender. I make carrot, apple and celery juice.
The juice extractor comes apart and reassembles easily and clean ups only takes a few minutes. The strainer basket with the blades cleans easily and quickly if you put some dishwashing soap on it; the brush then scrub each section of the wire mesh rinsing it under running water as you go around the basket.

This was the best appliance purchase I have ever made! This juicer is compact and tall, which looks great in any kitchen. With a very powerful motor, it’s able to juice in a second.
I bought this juicer so I can make fresh juice for my toddlers, myself and husband every day. Now my girls get fresh apple, pear, carrot, grape and strawberry juice. I absolutely love cucumber and apple juice. My husband loves the bloody mary juice — a tomato, celery and onion and then a dash of hot sauce.
We can get 4 times as much fruits and veggies in a day by juicing then by eating alone. I don’t want to sit around and eat 8 carrots or celery sticks but I can easily drink that in a day. I can’t stand eating melons but I drink them with an apple in this juicer.
I don’t even have to chop up most of my veggies and fruit. The entry hole is so big, an apple, cucumber, tomato etc. fits great. As long as you buy your fruit organic you don’t have to peel most of your fruits and veggies. Just get a good juicing book and it will tell you what fruits and veggies you can juice whole.
The ultimate is the easy clean up with this juicer. It tastes less than a minute to clean the entire thing.
I am now going to start a composting bin for all the scraps from my juicer. That is one of the benefits of juicing too. You can use the leftovers for compost or depending on the fruit or veggie can use for a loaf or bread. Like carrot, apple or zuccini pulp can be used to bake tasty loafs. I am just an average Mom who bought this juicer. For all the other Moms out there…Buy this!

The Breville BJE200XL is the smallest juicer I’ve used; I just leave it out on the side of my counter. You do have to really push the juice cup or your own glass right up against the juicer so you don’t spill or drip. Wait until you have turned off the juicer and the blade stops before removing your juice cup, sometimes more juice will come out. The slower you push your fruit thru, the more juice you get out of it.
The juicer is fantastic and worth any cleaning time, only a few minutes anyway. I immediately rinse the screen and use the brush that comes with it. You can soak it, but just clean it right away. Run clean water thru the screen after using the brush. You’ll get the hang of it. But be careful, the blade(s) is really sharp. People complain about the cleaning, get over it and use the juicer!
This juice extractor is not as loud as I thought it would be. The motor is really powerful; you should see those blades go! I wish I would have bought this one first like I had wanted to. I’d have an extra $500.00 plus in my wallet. The “other” one I have is great for salsa, smoothies and soups and all that, but I really just wanted juice; pure juice, with no ice or water having to be added to it for the “other” blades to work properly.
Totally worth every penny and it is much cheaper than the others out there, better looking, better design and better machine.
Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Breville BJE200XL Juicer
I ordered this Breville BJE200XL juicer after watching the movie FOOD MATTERS. I chose this model due to all of the positive reviews. I got the juicer REALLY fast, even with the free shipping.
The vegetable juice tastes WAY better than I thought it would — even parsley, lettuce, and cabbage tastes really good.
And despite the comments about this being hard to clean, I didn’t find that to be the case. The handle of the included brush is perfectly shaped to swipe out all of the pulp. I do find that the mesh screen is easier to clean with a plastic mesh sponge rather than with the brush, though.
I’ve been using it twice a day since I got it. Totally recommend it! (Lori Smith)

I drink juice all the time so I wanted a juicer that was suitable for heavy juicers. I researched juicers for months and the Breville BJE510XL was my choice for the best juicer on the market. The juice extractor met my strict requirements for a practical, heavy duty household appliance.
I wanted everything — nutritional benefits of a masticating juice, speed and versatility of a centrifugal juicer and easy cleanup feature.
I liked the idea of consuming super healthy foods but I didn’t want to devote 30 minutes of my time for a glass of juice. I didn’t think that it was worth it to wake up earlier for juice. So I sacrificed a little bit of the nutrition for the speed, ease and cleanup.

First of all, just out of the box, this is one beautiful looking juicer, which sounds strange to say, but when you see it, you’ll understand. It has a very high tech, classy look to it. The variable rpm settings from 1 to 5 depending on what you’re juicing give you the most yield for what you want to juice.
Clean up is VERY easy if you have a sink full of soapy water ready just after you juice. All you really have to do is rinse out 4 or 5 parts in soapy water and they come clean instantly. The mesh basket comes clean easily with the brush provided with your juicer.
I do have a dishwasher and understand the parts are all top shelf dishwasher safe, but I use my juicer twice a day, every day and it’s easier for me to just wash & rinse in the sink. Reassembling it is just as quick and easy.
Here are some of the great features of the Breville BJE510XL:
- Measures 16-4/5 by 15-1/2 by 10-1/4 inches with a one year limited warranty.
- This 900-watt juice extractor comes with 5 speeds juicing system.
- Motor speeds range from 6500 rpm for softer produce to 12500 rpm for maximum extraction from denser foods.
- Big 3-inch circular feed tube makes it easy to process whole fruits and vegetables and is positioned directly over the center of the cutting disc for better balance and consistent results.
- The juicer also provides a stainless-steel micromesh filter and cutters, engineering-grade polymers, a backlit control panel, and dishwasher-safe parts for quick cleanup.
- Accessories include 1-liter juice jug and froth separator, a detachable spout, and a cleaning brush.

I recently started making juice from scratch using the breville ikon 900-w and was pleasurably surprised by the ease and power of this product. The Breville is very easy to use from removing it out of the box to making your first refreshing glass of juice.
I researched a few other juicers before purchasing the breville and after using the Breville I can understand some of the critiques of the other juicers — for example, I saw the Jack Lalanne juicer in a store and the reviews stated it was too large, trust me, it is. Also, I would strongly recommend you know what you would like to juice.
The Breville is great for juicing solid vegetables and fruits like carrots and apples but if you are going to do mainly soft fruits (oranges and grapes) I would go with a blender rather than a juice extractor like the Breville. However, if you need a juice extractor the breville has the power (very important), ease, and style.
The breville 900-w is very easy to clean. I make a pitcher of carrot, apple and sometime pear juice in the morning and it takes me approx 15 minutes from start to clean up for a full pitcher. The hardest thing to clean is the grinder screen that separates the juice from the fruit or vegetable.
Lastly, the breville is very cool looking as a kitchen appliance. Its sleek silver design will go well with your other appliances and has the wow factor. My juice extractor cost around $180 plus $5 for shipping and handling. I thought this was more than a fair price for what you get. I live in Chicago and it was delivered in two days. If you choose the breville you will not be disappointed.
Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Breville BJE510XL:
I picked up the Breville Ikon 900-watt juicer about six weeks ago and I’ve never been happier with a household appliance in all my life. It’s easy to use, quick to clean, and I’ve never been so excited to eat fruits and vegetables.
The owners manual is written well and offers several juicing recipes to get you started right away. I was juicing my first items just a few minutes after opening the box. I doubled my overall energy in just a matter of a few days after I started juicing with the Breville Ikon.
It’s Perfect for guys (and gals) like me, who never make the time to eat the necessary amount of fruits and vegetables. Again, I just couldn’t be happier with this machine. Happy Juicing! (K. Baraka)
